The Breakers Inn at Higgins Beach:
Rodney Laughton, Innkeeper. 2 Bay View Avenue, Higgins Beach, Scarborough. Phone: 207-883-4820. Old-fashioned oceanfront charm. A bed and breakfast inn located directly on the Atlantic Ocean at Higgins Beach. Built as a private home in 1900, it has served the public since the early 1930's. there are 15 guest rooms, each with a private bath. All accommodations in the main building have a view of the ocean and a private bath. No group rate, but 3 rooms in the main building have been saved for the Geer group. Cost: $175+tax for two people with breakfast. Parking included. Lunch available at noon.

Higgins Beach Inn:
34 Ocean Avenue, Scarborough. Phone: 207-883-6684. Toll free: 800-836-2322. This three-story colonial revival structure whose origin dates back to 1897 is within a stone's throw of the unspoiled, sandy Higgins Beach. Garafalo's Restaurant on premises, serving three meals a day. There are 15 double or twin bed rooms (two people per rooom - cot is $20 more) blocked out for the GFA -- 5 of which are rooms with a shared bath; 10 rooms have private baths. Group rate (2-night minimum stay): $85+tax for shared bath; $130+tax for private bath.

Comfort Inn in Scarborough:
329 US Route 1, Scarborough. Phone 207-883-2700. This chain-facility is brand-new. Continental breakfast is included. There are 25 rooms held under the Geer Family Reunion name. These all have 2 queen beds, indoor pool, exercise room, laundry facilities. Suites are also available. Group rate: $116.99+tax.

Motel 6 in Portland:
One Riverside Street, Portland. Phone 207-775-0111. Free morning coffee. Kids stay free. WiFi, data port, coin laundry. Group rate: $50+tax per night.

Campgrounds:

Bayley's Camping Resort in Scarborough
275 Pine Point Road, Scarborough. Phone 207-883-6043. 700 sites dedicated to family camping since 1970. Shuttles on the hour to historic Old Orchard Beach (a nearby beach to Higgins), three heated pools, four hot tubs, three playgrounds, in-park tram, mini-golf, Wi-Fi, two general stores, daily 5-Star Activity Program for kids, arcade, fishing ponds, cafe, rentals for bikes, fishing poles, paddleboats, on-site campter rentals (including pet-friendly ones), and more. No group rate available, but rates are determined by area choice, types of hookups (electric, water, cable, sewer) and also the tenting area which is least expensive. Call for specific details (like bring-your-own sheets, pillows, towels, TV) and rates.

Wassamki Springs Campground in Scarborough
56 Saco Street, Scarborough. Phone: 207-839-4276. With a 30-acre private lake and a one-mile sandy beach, Wassamki Springs offers scheduled activities such as Free Hayrides, Free Movies, and Family Bonfire, Pot Luck Dinners, Yankee Swap, Softball Games, Bingo, Breakfast & Dinner Events ... And more! The facilities include Lakefront Sites, Spacious Shaded or Sunny Sites, Fireplaces & Picnic Tables, Campground Store, Snack Bar, Pavilion, Metered Propane Gas, Wood, Ice, FREE WiFi, Laundry Facilities, Modern Restrooms, Free Hot Showers, On Site Telephone Hook-ups, Electricity, Water, and Sewer Hook-ups.
